Re: Museum of the Confederacy closing

As I recall the issue of no longer flying the flag out in front of the building of MOC was a Board of Directors decision about a decade before Rawls came there. As it was told to me at the time by the then Exec Director to lessen the chance of becoming a target for vandals as was frequently happening with other southern historical items around the City. The MOC Board policy as far as I know still remains in place including at the MOC-Appomattox facility.

However this new museum co-venture having its own separate Board of Directors does have plans to include both the Confederate First National and the 35 Star US in front.
