Hello Joe, interesting stuff. I've found a number of galvanized Yankees myself from England at Gettysburg. Hopefully once this project is over it will have a break down. However, sometimes a soldier would tell Confederate authorities one place of birth and the Union authorities yet another. If a galvanized Yankee had good duty with his new army and was discharged then I tend to believe what he told Federal authorities. However about 50% of the galvanized Yankees thus far had deserted at one time or another.
