I disagree with you. I posted the start of the war from the prospective of Pres. James Buchanan. Nowhere does he even mention slavery as a cause of the war. He does however list his reasons for keeping Sumter, which is where and what caused the war.

Secession, to the best of my knowledge, is never mentioned by Buchanan or Lincoln as a reason to go to war. Lincoln was to "preserve the Union" but what does that mean exactly??? I will point that out later.

McPherson is biased, I wouldn't believe him, without looking, if he said it was presently raining in Mississippi, which it is.
