I have a photocopy of my great-great-grandfather's picture taken in 1863. He is wearing a kepi and it looks like there is a patch on the front. I couldn't make it out for quite some time and then I got a better monitor with better resolution. It looks now like it could be the palmetto tree and crescent moon on the patch. I just wondered if you have ever come across other pictures of soldiers from South Carolina with maybe the same patch. If you like I can send you a copy of it and see what you think.
