The 1870 US Census for Beaverdam, Haywood Co., NC (Pigeon River P.O.) lists Hampton HOLCOMB, 36, farmer; Sallie, 32; Martha J., 16; Newton, 12; Mary A., 8; Jesse, 6; John C., 4; and Charles W. 10/12; all b. in SC.

Hope this helps a litte; look like he survived the war.
