I would be interested in any information you have on the 5th SC Cavalry, especially Company H. My great grandfather, Private John McCuen Rowe, served in company H. I believe he was in Co A of the 14th Battalion, SC Cavalry prior to it becoming the 5th SC Cavalry.
I know they moved to Virginia in 1864, and would appreciate any information regarding the battles they were in. A some point, they returned to oppose Sherman in SC & NC, and were with Hampton just before the surrender of Johnson in NC.
