Her name was Annie F. Hunsucker. Her father was W. W. Hunsucker. She and my grandfather eloped. Annie's mom had died and I think Annie was tired of "raising kids" though I never heard her say that. I remember her well as I am 71 and she was 88 when she died. He died before I was born. She lived with her youngest son, F. B. Austin, Jr., and we visited her on Sundays. They had a family Bible but it does not list the names of his parents. I said his tombstone was the only record I have of his birth, but it is also recorded in the Bible as Oct 3, 1851. You will enjoy the following which was printed in the Raleigh paper in a column such as "50 years ago":

"Raleigh, North Carolina, newspaper - March 21, 1930: Regarding the marriage in Raleigh last week of F. B. Austin to Miss Ann Hunsucker, of Carthage, a Moore County paper says it was the result of an elopement, which adds that the "father of the young lady is a 200-pounder, and the lucky son-in-law had better steer clear of this place for a while."

They didn't move to Georgia until around the turn of the century. So I don't suppose he was very afraid of his father-in-law threats, regardless of his size. I just those Rebels weren't afraid of anything.
