Enlisted as a Private
"I" Co. SC 5th Infantry

Captured at Chattanooga October 29, 1863 at the battle of Browns Ferry, sent to POW camps at Nashville, Louisville, Ky, Camp Morton, Indiana and Fort Deleware arriving on March 19, 1864 where he died April 18, 1864 of "Inflam of Lungs," buried on Jersey Shore.
