Per Ancestry.com, he was Uriah Benson WHITES, b. Oct 1838, Dutch Fork, Lexington Dist., SC. In 1860, he was a school teacher at Rockville, Dutch Fork, Lexington Dist., SC. By 1870, he was married to the former Susannah Josephine FEAGLE, and was a farmer at Cannons, Newberry Co., SC, with two children. In 1880, he was the country treasurer of Newberry Co., SC living in Newberry with his wife and three children. In 1900, he was widowed and working as a candy salesman in Atlanta, GA with two of his children. He d. in 1906, and is buried with his wife in Prosperity Cemetery, Prosperity, SC.
