I am trying to locate William Jasper Edge as serving in Jeter's Company (Macbeth's) South Carolina Artillery. He has a grave marker in Alabama indicating this Confederate Military Service, but I don't find any proof that he served in that unit. Also, before his death, he was listed in several different newspaper articles in Alabama as having attended Confederate veterans reunions and gatherings. His military service was always noted as Macbeth's SC Light Artillery. I am puzzled about why I can't seem to locate proof of this service. Any help will be appreciated.
