I dont know what happened to the other replys to this topic . Barry Wyatt researched this and replied. I did copy it and this what he wrote.
Nancy Lee's husband William H.Wiliford , Co. H 12th S.C. Infantry enlisted at Yorkville / York Couthouse feb. 26th 1864. He was listed as a POW in a Hospital May 23rd 1864 at fredericksburg, Va. he was listed as wounded in the back and right arm . He was wounded between May 12th and 17th . he was taken off the battle field, at Old Wilderness tavern, by Yankees gathering wounded and taken prisoner. He was never heard from again. Williams wife , Nancy Lee Wiliford , is listed in Family history as died " May 12th , 1864 Spotsylvania , Va.. How ? What was she doing there ? No Idea. She had 3 children back home in S.C. . One of these was 16 year old Mary Wiliford . Mary married John Jackson Nichols , 6th S.C. infantry . He was wounded " May 12th 1864" Spotsylvania , Va.! John Jackson Nichols recovered and returned to duty to eventually be surrendered / Paroled at Appomatox C.H. April 6th 1865 .He married Mary Wiliford Nov. 1865, William and Nancys daughter . John Nichols had a war buddy named John Thomas Taylor , 5th S.C. Inf., that married Nichols Youngest sister, Julia Nichols, after the war . These two boys , John Nichols and John Taylor , both 22 years old , Migrated with there New brides to Cleveland Arkansas and repopulated Southern Arkansas with 11 children each ! John Thomas taylor died in 1897 clearing land on his farm when a tree fell on him !
I told my Mother when she asked about her Lineage , " Mom , they could make a good movie about your Grandparents "! LOL ! You neeed to remember May 12th 1864 ! You lost both your great, gr. grandparents and your great grandfather was wounded the same day , same battle! Ha!
