Jack....the name Burwell is associated by marriage with Gen. George Pickett (his sister married a Blair Burwell who was a surgeon in the Confederate military; 8th Virginia Infantry). Go to www.pickettsociety.com and click on the "archives" link. We did a headstone dedication for Blair Burwell at Hollywood Cemetery a few years back. Not saying it is any connection, but it may help your research.
