According to Todd's AME, Gregg's 1st SC Infantry (which mustered out in 1861 and was reorganized) initially wore gray single-breasted frock coat, pants and forage cap, all trimmed in blue. By 1862 most of the regiment wore gray jacket, pants and cap with blue trim.
