I grew up close to the former college. It was a run down apartment bldg. in the 1950 s. It was just West of the Capitol Theater which later became Stax Records It was not on the corner of College and Mclemore as has been reported. There is a historical marker nearby atTrigg and Mississippi (if the locals haven't destroyed it ) that tells of the shelling of the college from that spot.
