Ancestors of mine,members of the 60th Tenn.Mtd Inf.( same brigade as the 61st and 62nd regiments ) reported to "parole camps" to await "exchange." Some of the men simply never went back. Some joined the Union Army. On the Civil War Soldier Search Site there is a Jackson Lane listed as belonging to the Union 10th Tenn.Cav. The 10th was organized in Nashville in Sept.of 1863. Those that remained on the Confederate side and in the " East Tenn.Brigade " served the remainder of the war in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Hope this might help. Have you tried Federal pension records ?
