To Ken--Ft. Henry

Good to hear from you Ken. It so happens that my ggg-grandfather, Andrew Jackson Gardner was a private in that company also. And he also took the Oath at Alton,IL on 20 March 1862. In the spring or summer of 1862, he joined Napier's Batt. in Montgomery County and in Feb. 1863 they were mustered into the 10th TN Cav. CSA. "Jack" was a farmer from Dover and he died there in 1890. I ordered a military marker for him, but that is about all the information I found.

I have seen your website, but it never sunk in until I re-read it. Those men fought very bravely at Ft. Henry.

Regards,

Joe
