I had three gggg uncles in the Federal 4th Tennessee Infantry, which was involved in an action at McMinnville against Confederate cavalry in October 1863. The regiment was badly outnumbered and surrended, but was reconstituted by early 1864.

I am interested in any accounts of the action at McMinnville, and of the 4th Tennessee generally.
