I supplied you with the info on Capt. James M. McMillan's county of residence, etc. I think it's absolutely wonderful knowing his pistol is still in existance, but try as I might, I can't place him in Gore's 13th Cavalry. In fact, I have no idea whom he served with before enlisting in Murray's Cavalry. There is a Pvt. J. C. McMillen in Co. C, 13th Cavalry, yet I doubt this is an error for James M. McMillan.

I've also looked extensively at the Putnam Co. Tennessee Cemeteries book and do not find that his remains were returned home and buried in that county. I find this rather surprising, don't you? Do you by chance know where he's buried?
