Ed Bearss wrote an easy on Ft. Henry and the fight there that the NPS site at Ft. Donelson sells for a few dollars. It may be the most detailed account of the valiant stand of 80 or so gunners versus the 4 Union ironclads (who were more punished that most people think).

Also - Ken Gott's and Ben Cooling's books are essential.
