When I wrote the blurb on my ggg-uncle George Wesley Byrd (see URL below), I basically gleaned details from Ed Bearss booklet and Ben Cooling's GREAT book on the Fort Donelson campaign.

If done today, I would definitely incorporate new material in Gott's book and from other new articles..!!!!
