Capt. William Scott's Independent Cavalry Company served in Gen. Zollicoffer's brigade at the Battle of Fishing Creek [Logan's Cross Roads, Mill Springs] January 19, 1862.
Later, he served as Major in the 4th Tennessee Cavalry formed just before the battle of Murfreesboro, December 1862.
A Capt. Robert H. Bledsoe commanded Co. I in the regiment, which was raised in Fentress Co., Tenn. May have been a brother.
I would suggest you obtain Will Scott's service record in the Compiled Service Records for the 4th Tenn. Cav., either at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville or at the National Archives. There you should be able to find where the his company was raised.
