Willis S. Bledsoe served first as Captain of Co. "F", Murray's 4th TN Cav. He was subsequently promoted to Major and the Captaincy was assumed by R.H. Bledsoe. Murray's 4th was eventually broken up and split into two battalions when Murray was elected to the CS Congress. One of the battalions was commanded by Major Bledsoe, and an unsuccessful attempt was made to incrase it to a regiment. It was then integrated into the newly formed Smith's 8th Tn Cav. with Co."F" becoming Co. "I" in the new organization.
These were the only bledsoe's I could locate who served as officers during the war
