Of note, the State of Tennessee did try to outfit its men, and until the fall of Nashville was producing clothing for Tenn. men. The Company of Military Historians published an article on it about ten years ago, Rob Field covers it briefly in his Confederate Uniform book. Basic uniform was a Frock Coat and trousers.
