I take on board your comments about receiving clothing from home.

In her diary, Lucy Virginia French, noted from McMinnville on the 30th November 1862 that the town seemed to be outfitting the 9th Texas Regiment, stationed their. Also on the 7th December 1862, the 20th Alabama Regiment, stationed in the town, were also being outfitted by the population. The troops were also selling Yankee clothing that they has captured in Kentucky, as they did not like to wear it. She also notes the general scarcity of clothing at this time.
