Col.James Wendell Gillespie

I don't have a question just some neat info.I live in Rhea co,Tn. While driveing on a nearby road I noticed A small cematary in the woods I've been curious about it for years so finnaly did some studying and found out that one of the men bured there was James Wendell Gillespie he was born Aug.9,1819 and died Oct,10.1874 he joined the 5th East tn volenters Oct,17 .1861 .he then recruited the 43rd infantry regiment and was elected Colonel Dec 14,1861. He was captured and paroled at vicksburg and then rejoined the army. He was also one of the men who escorted Jefferson Davis in Washington,Georgia when the president surrenderd.
I thought it was neat to know that A confederate Col.was bured in my hometown.
