Gentlemen,

First, I was raised in the Rhea County area and never have heard this story. Second, you need to contact Betty Broyles, President or Past President of the Rhea County Historical Society. She up in years so sooner would probably be better. She will be able to tell you more about the house and the graveyard. Also, you may want to head to the library. If there is a story, then she or/ and Seth Tallent (deceased) would have likely recorded it. My wife's family was from Washington, Tennessee (circa 1840- 1910) and we are familiar with the area and have walked in the cemetery several times. There are more than a few Confederate Veterans and other graves but the markers are long gone and the trees have no doubt grown into or covered the graves.
