I don't know more than what I wrote.When I saw your post I remembered reading before and sure enough.I took at face value and since my interest is in Confederate treasury notes,I never checked.William Bradbeer was an expert in Confederate money and "The Lost Cause" the preface to the book I mentioned. You might check on the Metropolitan Record of New York or minutes from Daughters of Confederacy meeting of 1907.If I find anything I will contact you.
