I think this is what we would like to have for an ancestor when we can find the exact place he was buried at. He was with the 8th Reg. Inf. from Jackson Co. Tenn. and was on the way with Donelson's Brigade heading for the Cheat Mountains. The death date has that group at Huntersville and not in a battle. It is quoted that they had several deaths due to sickness. So this is what we know up to now.
Can you give me any help in getting one set up? I am a member of the OCR and OBR of Old North State NC. and another is a member of Forrest/Longstreet SCV camp from Jackson Co.Tenn. We would like to see a stone place at his finally resting place. I think we will leave him where he is. Can you tell me who to get in touch with to get the stone and a metal marker?
We are now trying to get in touch with any family member that may still be alive other then a very few that has been looking for the grave site.
Thank you so very much for any help you may give us. Nancy Dickerson
