I have not been able to locate a village, Flat Creek. However, the Official Military Atlas of the Civil War, on plate 142 B3, shows a Flat Creek which appears to flow into the Clinch River approximately 10 miles SSW from Tazewell.

I have also noted in the Official Records of a Flat Creek Bridge on the East Tennessee and Virginia Railroad. Where that is, I cannot say.
