In an attempt to wear both "a belt and suspenders" I routinely include a hyperlink in all of my postings. If you will look at the message you referenced from December 19, 2006, you will see such a link at the end of the message.

As far as being obnoxious and distracting. I put out a considerable amount of money to pay for these sites. The Military Records Research Service is designed to provide a valuable and economical product to our visitors and to help me defray the costs for webspace, maintenance, software and the contracting of outside services. In addition, one of the most unique and attractive features of these message boards is the participation of almost one hundred (100) published authors in our discussions. ALL of the books promoted on these sites are those of our contributing authors. My small thank you for the participation of these authors and historians is to display ads for their books on these pages.
