Thank you for your post George. I have been told that Kate "Gotherd's" husband, U. S. Soldier, was Union. But I have checked records for both Union and Confederate Pension looking for her name. Kate does not appear anywhere else regarding military records, other than the 1890 Veteran's Schedule that I can find.

I have checked the TN Census' and she appears from 1860 through 1900, never showing husband's name in 1870 TN census where she appears with a child, nor TN census' 1880 and 1900 where she appears with children. In 1900 TN census she is shown as "Widow". I have never been able to find her after that. I had recently found her name on the 1890 Veteran's Schedule and thought I might have some way of finding her record...almost doesn't seem possible at this point.
