Re: Union Bushwhackers in Pall Mall

I have visited with a Hyso (spelling changed deliberately) in Pall Mall, TN. While there she took me to a Hisaw cemetery, and also to an old Civil War era log cabin that was once on part of her Hisaw ancestor's land. We were not able to go inside, as it no longer belongs to the family. She told the story of how a Hisaw was killed in the cabin by a relative, and that his blood could still be seen on the floor and window sill. She said this was the reason her family changed the spelling of their name.
