Unless I am mistaken, my ancestor Sgt. J. D. Pearce of the 8th Arkansas was wounded at the Hornet's Nest.
His cousin, a Confederate soldier also, fell at the Hornet's Nest.
Unless I am mistaken, the Union soldiers fared better than the Confederates in what was a horrible mess.
