The info I received from the National Archives says he was captured near Staunton, Va on June 5, 1864. and taken to Camp Morton, Ind. I find him on the camp roster in which I had obtained a copy.
One note here, If this is my ancestor, his uncle, Marcus Cook was held there and also died there. I have family records that back this up.
