Remember, only a portion of the official correspondence from the war was published in the Official Records. Have you looked at Walcutt's file and papers; or how about his immediate senior commander's file and papers? Many people new to research fail to do this. I know that many universities do a terrible job, if any, of teaching research. What sources then have you turned up on the burning of Randolph and the incident that instigated the burning?
