The CWSS lists a Richard G. Thompson serving in the 5th TN Cav (McKenzie's). There was another Richard G. listed in the infantry, but I think they are the same man. Alot of the men enlisted/were conscripted into the infantry and then transferred to the cavalry. Men of the 5th TN Cav were recruited in Bradley Co. and surrounding area.
