A Civil War Veteran

Hello Everyone!

When our Buckeye State weather permits, I am travelling to the Elmer Cox Genealogical Library in Greeneville TN. I've been there before as a "side trip" when I visited the Knoxville area, but it was closed (Sunday, you know). I've since learned to plan ahead, contact the staff, advise them of my research target, etc. However, I wanted to check with you ladies & gentlemen, to see if you have advice on things to look for, resources that might be particularly helpful, or techniques that might bring better research results while at such a facility.

My main target will be to garner more info on my GG Grandfather, who I believe to be a veteran of the 64th NC Infantry, and possibly, Day's 12th TN Cavalry Battalion. Does anyone know of any resources there at COX that might help me firm up his status with those outfits? If so, your kind words would be more than appreciated, as I want to make the most of my visit there.

Have a Very Blessed New Year,

ROY
