For some time now I've owned a copy of " History of the First Regiment of Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry. " Written by W.R.Carter about 1901-1902. Willian served in Company C. The book is a reprint edition from 1992. I believe it's still available at bookstores( at least in Tennessee.) I had two ancestor/relitives in Co.A, William A.Blakely and his son James H. James was the last member of 1st wounded in the Civil War. The book was printed ( and published ? ) by OVERMOUNTAIN PRESS,JOHNSON CITY,TENN. I would also recommend a fairly new book " Tennessee's Union Cavalrymen " by Myers E. Brown II published by ARCADIA PUBLISHING www.arcadiapublishing.com Not a lot of reading in this one but some great photos of soldiers ( some in the field )from the collection in the Tennessee State Museum. Great Books !!!!Good luck and God Bless !!!
