Jim has a great site !!! Lots of nice folk !!! Glad I could help in some way. Are you from Tennessee ? Sounds like our interest in the " late unpleasantness " came about much the same way. I'm a few years older than you ( 61 ) but my grandparents in the 1950's encouraged my Civil War fascination by telling me about relatives ( some of which they could remember as old folks in their childhood ) who were in " that bad ole war " they would call it. I've lived in Sullivan County all my life and have both Union and Confederate in my Tennessee roots. I've some who started Confederate and ended up Union fighting on both sides !!! My Dad's roots are across the mountians in Western North Carolina. Not a " Lincolnite " in that bunch !!!! Ha Ha !!! I've loved it since a kid and still do. Always good to hear from others that feel the same way. I read about your gr gr grandpa. I know your very proud as indeed you should be !!!!
