Glenn,
When I sent that "thank you" out to you yesterday, I had no idea how "in your debt" I would soon be! Last evening as I sat reading your suggestion on the book "History of The 1st TN Cavalry Regiment", I was telling my wife how grand this message board site is, and how everyone is so gracious about helping each other. While doing so, I was trying to find the same book online, and discovered that my genealogical research subscription carried the book online, so within a couple of more clicks, I able to enter my GG Grandpas name in an index, and it brought me right to page 136. On that page Col. Carter had written an account of how Gramps was wounded - he even listed his middle initial for clarity's sake! I knew that GG Gpa Brogden was wounded in the leg, but never expected to be able to find out such detail about it! My grandma had told me about his wound when I was about 12 (1968), and I have been wondering about him ever since. Thanks to you, this decades old mystery of mine has been cleared up - all because you were kind enough to offer your expertise! I cannot thank you enough sir.
My thanks also go out to Jim for hosting this remarkable site!
Thank you, and may GOD bless!
ROY
