J.J. Perry

My gg grandfather was of age to have possibly served in the war. His name was James Jackson Perry. The only census I can find him on is the 1880 Crockett County TN. He is listed as J.J Perry age forty-eight, born NC. He would have been about twenty eight or twenty nine in 1861.

There are a few J. Perry's and James Perry's from Tennessee. Problem is he never applied for a pension. Given a fairly common name, I'm not sure he is any of the men listed on the CWSS or not. His death date & burial place are unknown. I have little to no info.

I'm fairly certain he was in Tennessee when the war broke out as his oldest son was listed as being born in TN the 1880 census. His age was 18, born abt. 1862. His next child James Henry Perry, my great grandfather, was born about 1867 in TN.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
D.W.
