Reply to George Martin: Thank you very much for your information. Of the 3 brothers, H.J. (Henry Jack) has been the most elusive to document. He went by "H.J.", as it is inscribed on his grave stone. I can understand how an "H" could easily become an "A" on a document. It might pay to order the pension records of the Andrew J. Hicks to find if any clues are located there. All I know of the brothers can be found on www.tngenweb.org/sullivan; click on Pensions. Since they moved from unit to unit, one can only venture a guess as to what engagements they were involved in.
