Re: Field officers of tewart's Division

Thanks so very much. I have the letter that C.K. wrote to resign, and he stated that he wanted to go into a Calvary unit, and he went with the 18th Ms. Calvary and was at FT. Pillow and Brice's Crossroads, where he was wounded in the head on June 11, 1863 and died on June 17th, 1863. He is buried at Lauderdale Springs Cemetery nd does have a monument.
I have a paper from the Archives in Washington that he is listed on the Roster of Field Officers of Stewart' Division dated June 12, 1863.So far,I have not been able to find this roster.

I did find him on the Roll of Honor at Murfreesboro and a letter from General H.D. Clayton promoting him from Sgt. to 2nd. Lt. Gen. Clayton forwarded this letter to Secretary of War, James Seddon. I would like to find the letter from the Secretary of War, but have not found it either.
Thanks so very much for your help.
