Thanks so very much. I found some battlefield reports and the 17th was at
urfreesboro and they stated that the color bearer was wounded and that Pvt. Womack got the flag and preserved it. The report said the flag had bullet holes in it and that the flagstaff was broken. I saw his name on the Confederate Medal of Honor Winners on the internet.
