Paul...Did you have any luck at the TSLA? What was his name?..On an outside chance he was buried in a local cemetery you might check cemetery inscriptions for the area.Local newspapers in his home County,check out the history of the Georgia units there on that day for memoirs etc.. If your in Tennessee just drive down to Franklin and Winstead Hill then follow the RR south to Thompson's Station and see if you get a feel for a certain place.My Tennessee ancestor was from Culleoka in Maury County.I drove up there from Texas about 13 years ago.

Good grief..Lawson's Book has 6 pages of acknowledgements maybe 300+ people,libraries and archives he contacted.He no doubt found Ben Darsey's little pamphlet and probably his descendents as he lists the following under the article about Darsey in the back: Personal communication in 1976 with Edward H Hahn,Pittsburgh,Penn.,and Richard C.Cohan,Hinesville,Georgia. Darsey was captured on the raid and sent to Camp Chase for the duration of the war.
