Only thing I have on Marion is that it is recorded on the Tennessee pension application #12345 that he was not in any battles and that he was not wounded BUT this application may contain garbled info from the other Marion who died in Tennessee. It is possible, and very probable, that due to administrative mistakes the two Edens service records were merged into one - eg. two brothers, also in Turney's Regiment (Co H), by the names of Joseph C Stubblefield and Young T Stubblefield are listed in several genealogical records as one person but this is wrong, they were twins. This might have also happenened to the Edens since their names were similar. And this is not the only case of mistakes recording service in the regiment. Several spelling errors and and guesses at names abound - Wilkenson/Wilkerson, Ferrister/Forrester, Farriss/Fariss/Farris.

If so, expoliating (and speculating) from Eden's application record suggests that an Edens was present at the Battle of Fredericksburg on Dec 11-15, 1862, the Battle of Chancellorsburg on May 1-3, 1863 and at the Battle of Gettysburg July 1-3, 1863 (info from Barry Crompton's book The Wandering Brigade witten in June 2002). Further, an Edens was hospitalized at Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond, Virginia from May to August of 1863 - wounded at Chancellorsburg??? Seems an awful long time to spent recuperating if he only was sick. This Edens was also furloughed for 40 days on Aug 8, 1863 - possibly wounded at Gettysburg and spent a month in hospital until furloughed???

If the Tennessee Edens states he was not in any battles who was the Edens who was hospitalized after the above mentioned battles and why was he hospitalized? Was this person Francis Marion Edens from Texas?
