Re: Barn's Brig.
In Response To: Re: Barn's Brig. ()

Ms Chandler,

I don't see any "Barns" in Wright/Simpson (W/S) or Sifakis. I do see a Barnes in both reference books. W/S has a Lt Col James W. Barnes as Commanding Officer of the 4th Infantry Regiment of Texas State Troops. W/S also show this same Barnes as a Col. of the Texas Reserve Corps.I don't find much on the Texas Reserve Corps. Sifakis' "Compendium" only lists Barnes' association with the Texas State Troops ( 4th Infantry ) which he says were organized for only 6 months in the fall of 1863.
Sorry I could not be more help. By the way, sorry for all the misspelled words in some emails. I'm usually in a hurry and I don't proof 'em before I send 'em.
Best Regards, Craig Morin
