I have recently discovered my GG Grandfather Calvin Downey was in this unit during the Civil War. I found him on a Muster Roll from Smith County Texas and through some digging around discovered he was apart of this unit. I also compared names that were on the Co. K list with the Smith County Muster list and fouind several matches of fellow soldiers. Any furthur detailed info on the 10th Texas Calvary would be helpful. There never has been any discussion of his service for the Confederacy in our family. In fact I just happened to stumble upon this while doing family research. This has opened a whole new chapter of research for me.
