Lynn,
You can follow the 14th Texas by following the trail of the 15th, 16, 17th and 18th Texas cavalry units. They were all put into a brigade with the 10th Texas Infantry in July 1862. My ancestor was in the 15th Texas Cavalry and I have collected information on him and his unit for several years. If you have not seen a copy, you need to read the book:" Chapters from the unwritten History of the War Between the States or The incidents in the life of a confederate soldier in Camp, on the March, in the Great Battles and In Prison" by Lieut. R. M. Collins. It was first published in 1892, but was republished in 1988 by Morningside House, Inc. 260 Oak Street, Dayton, Ohio. At one time you could download the book from the web. I will try to find the web site for you. I will try to help you with any specific question you might have about the 14th or 15th Regiments.
