My husbands great grandfahter, George W. Woodall, was in the 14th Texas Cavalry in company G. George Woodall lived in Hunt Co., TX. when he enlisted on January 17, 1862. He was enrolled on February 12, 1862 and was sent to Camp Likens , Smith Co., TX. for training.George was in the unit serving under, Lt. Gen. Richard Taylor, commanding the Dept. of Al.,Miss, and East La, when Lt. Gen. Taylor surrendered at Citronelle, Al. on May 4, 1865. George was paroled at Meridian Miss. on May 9th, 1865.We have ordered the Southern Cross for him and will have a dedication in Frederick, Ok. on May 14th. I am trying to find out as much information on this unit as I can. I am hoping to put together a small booklet to hand out to descendents at the dedication. Thanks for any additional information on this unit and where they fought. Ruby Prescott
